In some cases, voters have noted that their votes weren't applied to the Precious Portrait they were voting for. That's because the votes were purchased but not cast for one of the entrants. After purchasing votes, go back to the Vote page and click on the vote bubble of your Precious Portrait. Then go to the top of the Vote Page and look for the "Give Selection: __ Votes - SAVE VOTE. View the Precious Portraits entries and vote for your favorites! In Round 2, there are 20 contestants. Proceeds from the contest benefit The Daily Nonpareil's Newspapers in Education (NIE) program, which provides newspapers to area students to use as learning tools.
Get your family and friends to vote, look at the adorable youngsters' photos, and vote for your favorite! Votes cost 25 cents each, and the minimum amount for online voting is $5. Votes may also be purchased at The Nonpareil office, 535 W. Broadway, Suite 300, in 25-cent increments.
Entries were submitted online or directly to The Daily Nonpareil from Oct. 1 to Oct. 26, and the fee was $10. The Nonpareil uploaded entries submitted offline to the contest Web site.
All Precious Portraits entries were featured in the Sunday, Nov. 1, Nonpareil!
Round 1 voting was from Nov. 1 to 4 p.m. Monday, Nov. 30. The top 20 vote-getters in Round 1 advanced to Round 2 voting, which will be from Dec. 6 to 4 p.m. Dec. 21. The Top 12 vote-getters in Round 2 will be included in a special calendar spread printed in the Sunday, Dec. 27, Daily Nonpareil.
